After almost three weeks in the hospital, unable to move, in pain, and ready to go Home, my Memaw went to be with Jesus yesterday afternoon. I am so thankful for this woman who spoiled me as a child and befriended me as an adult. I am grateful for the 28 years I had with her as my grandmother, the stories she told me, and the laughter we shared. She was a kind, funny, witty woman. She endured many hardships in her life, but never let them get the best of her. She loved black-eyed peas, Elvis gospel music, going to the beauty shop, Judge Judy, and good jokes. Even in the hospital, she cracked a joke or two, letting us know that she was still there.

Memaw, I know you're with Jesus now. I hope you know how much I love you and will miss you. I am relieved that you're not in pain any longer and that your heart's desire to be with Jesus and Papa is now fulfilled. Last night, we thanked God that you were dancing on streets of gold, and my eyes teared up because I know how long it's been since you danced. I love you, and I'll see you again soon.
Love you,
Lou Lou Bell

I didn't know she called you Lou Lou Bell! How sweet. Is that where Addie Belle came from?
Haha, no, we didn't name her Addie Belle because of that. That side of my family has always called me Lou, LouLou, or Lou Lou Bell since I can remember. Memaw is the one who gave me the nickname, but I don't know why.
I'm so sorry Lindsey! Do you guys need anything??
So sorry for your loss but rejoicing that you will someday dance with her in the streets of Heaven. Praying for your family.
